The main raw materials of EPDM cast-in-place elastic floor are adhesives and EPDM particles. Its product characteristics have strict requirements on the bottom surface of the foundation and construction technology.
Requirements for the bottom surface of the foundation
1. Asphalt concrete or cement concrete can be used for foundation paving, and it is required to have a certain strength and stability (cement concrete foundation needs to cut expansion joints, and no waterproof layer is required).
2. It is strictly forbidden to have cracks in the foundation and uneven frost heave caused by freezing.
3. The foundation must have good flatness and specified slope.
4. The surface must be flat and drainage must be guaranteed.
5. The surface of the foundation must be kept clean and dry. After the foundation is completed, the maintenance period is strictly required.
Construction process requirements
1. Construction classification There are two construction processes, mechanical paving and manual paving.
2. Surface pretreatment On the basis of meeting the requirements, the surface must be cleaned first, and there must be no dirt, dust, water (including watermarks), oil stains, etc. After cleaning, evenly apply the primer on the foundation (mix the diluent: glue in a ratio of 3-4:1) to enhance its bonding ability with the ground and avoid irreversible consequences.
3. Before construction, a small sample test must be done to pay attention to the following issues
a: The use of materials, such as whether the material ratio and material curing time are normal.
b: After 24 hours, observe whether there is any unsolidification phenomenon and whether the properties such as adhesion and strength meet the requirements.
4. Preparation work before work (manual) Materials, tools and equipment (clappers, rollers, soap water, cars, rakes, electric irons, mixers, etc.), auxiliary materials and catalysts are prepared.
5. Construction personnel requirements (manual) The construction personnel must be at least six people: two people for material preparation, two people for material transportation, and two people for paving.
6. Construction (manual): After mixing the materials in proportion, pour them into the site for paving, heat them with an electric iron (blowtorch heating) or pat them with a clapper dipped in soap water, flatten the joints, and keep the overall flatness.
7. The thickness of the site is required to be 8mm for black particles and 5mm for EPDM colored particles.
Construction precautions (manual)
1) The best construction temperature is 15-35℃. Too high or too low temperature will affect the construction.
2) The paving tools used (commonly known as trowels or push knives).
3) The mixing must be fully and evenly stirred.
4) Each batch of materials must be connected well, otherwise there will be joints if the connection is not good.
5) The trimming must be neat.
6) The ingredients must be strictly mixed according to the ratio. Colored rubber particles: glue = 6:1; catalysts are generally not required. If the ambient temperature is lower than 10℃, 5-10‰ can be added appropriately.
7) After the site is completed, check and clean up the remaining materials on the site to make the entire site beautiful.
