GZUNISPORT gym rubber flooring is made from virgin EPDM granules, natural rubber and SBR blends, engineered for commercial gym environments. It delivers consistent shock absorption, a reliable anti-slip surface and long service life exceeding 10 years, even under repeated impact from free weights and heavy daily foot traffic.
We manufacture three core types to cover every zone in your facility:
• Interlocking Rubber Mats — Available in 15 mm to 50 mm thickness. Ideal for weight rooms, free-weight areas, and machine zones.
• Gym Rubber Rolls — Best suited for open-plan cardio and stretching areas. Fast to install over large surfaces.
• Gym Turf — Designed for functional training zones including sled tracks, tire flip lanes and battle rope areas. Available in widths from 1 m to 4 m with custom length cutting.
All three formats can be produced in standard dimensions or custom-cut to project specification.
Every UNISPORT rubber flooring product is tested for formaldehyde, VOCs and restricted heavy metals before shipment. Our certifications include SGS, CE and ISO, meeting the material safety requirements of European and international fitness facility standards. Factory-direct supply eliminates middlemen, giving direct access to pricing, lead times and quality documentation.
Different areas of a commercial gym have different load, noise and safety requirements. Here is how facilities specify UNISPORT flooring by zone.
Zone-1: Free Weight and Barbell Area
Recommended product: Rubber Mats 30–50 mm
Why: Absorbs impact from dropped barbells and plates. Protects the subfloor structure and reduces noise transmission to floors below. The thick rubber layer cushions joint stress during deadlifts, squats, and Olympic lifts.
Zone-2: Cardio and Machine Floor
Recommended product: Rubber Rolls 6–10 mm / Rubber Mats 15–20 mm
Why: Machines exert sustained static load rather than impact. A thinner, high-density format provides stability underfoot without adding unnecessary height that affects equipment footing adjustment.
Zone-3: Functional Training and Sled Track
Recommended product: Gym Turf
Why: Sled pushes and tire flips require a surface with directional grip and abrasion resistance. Rubber mats shift under lateral load; turf's woven backing stays fixed and handles concentrated dragging force without tearing.
Zone-4: Stretching, Yoga and Group Class Area
Recommended product: Rubber Rolls 3–6 mm
Why: A thinner, softer roll provides comfort for floor-based movement without the raised edges of interlocking tiles that can cause trips during dynamic group class routines.
Zone-5: Outdoor Training Area / Rooftop Gym
Recommended product: Outdoor Rubber Mats or Gym Turf
Why: EPDM-based materials are UV-stable and weather-resistant. Unlike foam or PVC, they do not degrade or discolor under direct sunlight and handle temperature swings from –40°C to 100°C without cracking.
1. What type of rubber flooring is best for gyms?
EPDM rubber is the industry standard for commercial gyms. It absorbs impact from dropped weights, cushions joints, and holds up under heavy daily use. GZUNISPORT supplies interlocking rubber mats (15–50 mm) for weight zones and rubber rolls (3–12 mm) for open training floors.
2. Do I need rubber flooring over concrete?
Yes. Concrete transmits full impact to joints, offers no anti-slip protection, and damages easily under dropped weights. A rubber mat layer absorbs shock, protects the subfloor, reduces noise, and keeps equipment stable. For weight rooms, 30–50 mm is recommended; for cardio areas, 6–10 mm is sufficient.
3. Are GZUNISPORT gym mats formaldehyde-free and certified?
Yes — all products are manufactured without formaldehyde, restricted VOCs, or heavy metals. SGS test reports, CE Declaration of Conformity and ISO certification are available with every product, no additional request needed.
4. What colors are available? Can we customize?
Standard colors: Black, Dark Grey, Red, Blue, Green. Black is the most specified for commercial gyms — low maintenance and equipment-neutral. Custom EPDM particles, full color matching, and gym turf with logo printing or lane markings are available above MOQ.
5. What is the difference between gym turf and rubber mats?
Rubber mats are for weight rooms and machine zones, they keep heavy equipment stable. Gym turf is for functional training zones, such as sled tracks, tire flip lanes, agility drills, and battle rope stations. The two surfaces serve different purposes and are typically installed together in a full gym layout.
