Installation Guide
1. Basic Requirements
• Type: Ideally, the base should be asphalt or concrete. It must be strong, stable, and free of cracks.
• Flatness: Gaps in any direction ≤ 3mm. Flatness is crucial for consistent ball bounce and feel.
• Slope: Must have a unidirectional slope of ≤ 0.8% to ensure no water accumulation on the field. Drainage outlet locations must be planned in advance.
• Cleanliness and Dryness: The base surface must be thoroughly cleaned, free of dust, oil, moisture, or any loose material.
2. Installation
(1) Turf Transport and Unrolling
Transport the turf rolls to the field and unroll them along the length of the field. Let the turf rolls sit in the sun for 2-3 hours to fully unwind and eliminate any warping during transport.
(2) Positioning and Cutting
• Align the first roll of turf precisely along the sidelines and baseline. Lay adjacent rolls in sequence, ensuring the grass fibers are aligned.
• At the overlap of two rolls of turf, use a professional cutter to cut off both sides of the backing in one go, ensuring a tight, gapless seam.
(3) Seam Bonding
• Lay a special seam sealing sheet under the seam.
• Lift both sides of the turf and evenly apply the special adhesive to the seam sealing sheet.
• Lay down both sides of the turf, align them, and press them together, ensuring there are no bulges. Use a compaction roller to roll back and forth over the seam.
• Sprinkle additional sand in the seam area and use a heavy-duty brush to brush the grass fibers from the seam to conceal them.
(4) Boundary Fixing and Finishing
• Use U-shaped nails or fixing nails to fix the turf along the field boundary at 20-30cm intervals. The nail heads must be completely embedded in the grass fibers.
• Use a heat gun and cutter to finely finish irregular areas such as net posts and drainage outlets.
(5) Filling with Quartz Sand
• Use a professional sand spreader to evenly spread dry, clean quartz sand onto the field surface.
• The amount of sand spread is crucial; the specific quantity should be calculated based on the grass height and density. The filling depth should be approximately 2/3 of the grass fiber height.
(6) Combing and Settling
Use a heavy-duty comber to comb the grass fibers back and forth several times, thoroughly brushing the quartz sand into the roots. This process helps the grass fibers stand upright and ensures a uniform sand layer. A small amount of water can be sprayed to help the quartz sand settle and stabilize.
(7) Secondary Filling and Combing
• On top of the quartz sand layer, evenly fill with 1-3 kg/m² of environmentally friendly rubber granules.
• Gently comb again with a comber to evenly distribute the rubber granules between the upper and middle grass fibers, providing additional cushioning and a more realistic feel underfoot.
(8) Comprehensive Cleaning and Inspection
• Use a blower or vacuum cleaner to remove excess particles and debris from the surface.
• Carefully inspect the entire field. Ensure flatness, concealed seams, strong edges, even filling, and upright grass fibers.
• Conduct a real-world bounce test to check the consistency of the ball's bounce in different areas.
Routine Maintenance
• Regular Cleaning: Simply use a broom or hairdryer to remove dust and debris from the lawn surface.
• Precautions: Avoid scratching the grass fibers with sharp objects and prevent heavy vehicles from driving over them.
• Edge Inspection: Regularly check the adhesion of the lawn edges and re-secure them if they become loose.
• No Special Maintenance Required: No watering or fertilization is needed; maintenance costs are far lower than for natural lawns.
