What are EPDM granules?
EPDM granules, or ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber granules, are an elastic, granular material made primarily from EPDM rubber through a vulcanization, crushing, and screening process. They are a key component of rubber flooring for running tracks and gyms. During track construction, they are often mixed with a specialized glue and laid onto the base layer to create a resilient surface or cushioning layer. In gyms, they serve as the core filling material to enhance overall elasticity, and also as the surface layer, providing basic cushioning and anti-slip protection for strength training areas and equipment placement.

EPDM granule technology for sports applications
First, they offer excellent elasticity and strong cushioning. The high rebound performance provided by their molecular structure effectively absorbs the impact of the body, equipment, and the ground during exercise, reducing the risk of joint injuries and making them ideal for track running and gym use.
Second, they offer outstanding wear and aging resistance. The dense surface structure withstands frequent footsteps and friction from equipment, while also withstanding UV radiation and ozone damage, resisting cracking and fading over time.
They also offer excellent weather resistance, maintaining stable performance within a temperature range of -40°C to 80°C. Most products meet environmental standards, are odorless, and contain no heavy metals, ensuring both safety and health. The surface texture further enhances the anti-slip effect.
